Angle King FAQs
I don't drift why do I need these?
The AK49 Steering Knuckle increases steering response and overall steering angle, this can create a much more sporting feel and increase driving enjoyment. We designed the AK49 in mind with it being the most streetable/trackable steering knuckle available on the market. Along with it adding necessary steering angle, the AK49's also act as a roll center adjuster which corrects suspension geometry and reduces bump steer which is inherent on moderately lowered to extremely lowered vehicles. This product is not only recommended for drifting as it can absolutely be enjoyed on a street car
How much steering angle do these give me?
Using just these can get you around 49 degrees, Using these with our extended FLCA will get you around 54 degrees. This is all dependant on your wheel size/offset, tire size, front alignment settings, related suspension components etc..
Can I run just these or do I need other products?
On most applications, you will require a longer outer or inner tie rod in order to have a correct 0 toe alignment. We have this as a drop down selection to include in the order, to make it easier for all of our customers. We also recommend our JZX100/JZX90 customers to purchase IS300 Tension Arms as they provide more wheel clearance for steering angle compared to what comes on the vehicle stock. Additionally, we also now sell an adjustable Billet Front Tension Rod that provides the most possible clearance, allows for maximum adjustment.
Do I need to replace my lower ball joints when installing this product?
If your lower ball joints are in good shape then no you do not however this is a great opportunity to due so. We highly recommend replacing these ball joints with a high quality solution such as OEM Toyota/Lexus or 555 (OEM Comparable).
Should I use loctite when installing these?
No, you will not need to loctite any hardware. The bolts tightened to the correct torque spec is more than adequate and will not come loose. Make sure you inspect that the thread of the spindles are in good shape and the bolts thread in smoothly.

CASE FAQs
What is roll center?
Roll center is a theoretical point around which a vehicle's body rolls during cornering. It's crucial for vehicle stability and handling, as its position affects tire loading and suspension behavior. Properly adjusting roll center, especially in lowered cars, can reduce body roll, enhance grip, and improve overall cornering performance.
Why do i need to correct it?
Improper roll center adjustment can lead to several adverse effects on a vehicle's handling and stability. These include increased body roll, reduced tire contact with the road, and compromised steering response. Such issues not only deteriorate the vehicle's handling characteristics but also can cause uneven tire wear and put additional stress on suspension components, potentially leading to premature failure.
Are two piece style RCAs safe?
Yes, Two-piece style Roll Center Adjusters are safe when designed, installed, and used correctly. We take the utmost care in the quality of the materials along with the precision of the engineering and machining. Proper installation is crucial along with ensuring they are correctly fitted and torqued. You might have heard of bolts breaking on bolt on other brands of RCAs? We can confidently say with our product that simply won't happen as we supply the highest quality hardware possible. Routine inspections are also recommended to check for wear and proper bolt torque.
Do you offer the RCAs in different heights?
No, we only offer them in 35mm height. We found this is the most usable height for this component and we recommend shortening your uprights/spindles the same amount as this to keep suspension geometry square.

SERIAL999 FAQs
What defines install error?
"Install error" could refer to any mistake made during the process of installing components on a vehicle. This could include errors such as: Improper alignment, incorrect torque, damaged parts during installation, forgetting of components during installation, cross-threading bolts, or incorrect assembly. To avoid install errors during installation, it's essential to carefully follow SERIALNINE's instructions, use the correct tools and equipment, pay attention to torque specifications, and double-check all components for proper alignment and condition before finalizing the installation. If unsure, seeking guidance from experienced professionals or referring to reputable resources can help ensure a successful installation.
Why are your arms aluminum now?
CNC-machined billet aluminum suspension components offer superior strength, precision, and weight reduction compared to hand-fabricated steel. This manufacturing process ensures consistent quality and performance enhancement, optimizing durability and handling for automotive applications.
Are the arms sold as a pair?
Yes, All of our arms are sold as a PAIR.
What the difference between ONI and SPORT?
The ONI arms are designed to always be shorter that stock. This means that even at their fully extended length you will still have negative camber. The Sport arms are designed to be able to go slightly longer than stock allowing you to zero out your camber for drifting or any other reason. The SPORT arms will still go shorter than stock and allow you to have some negative camber just not to the extreme degree that the ONI control arms would allow.
How do i adjust my arms?
Watch this Video
How much camber will these arms give me?
The achievable camber is dependent on many factors such as ride height, and other alignment settings. The position of your lower cam bolt, Are your spindles shortened? The location and type of shortening.
What torque should I tighten the jam nuts to?
The recommended torque for jam nuts on our control arms is roughly 150lb/ft. (As tight as possible) This is necessary to ensure the adjuster do not come loose from movement/vibrations. The best tool for the job is a low profile 15/16" angled head open ended wrench as it will provide you with the most clearance for tightening. Tighten these as tight as possible. Routine inspections are also recommended to check for wear and proper jsm nut torque.
How long do the rod ends last
The rod ends generally last 5 to 7 years depending on the environment the vehicle is driven in, how often and how the vehicle is driven.
How long will the ball joint last?
The ball joints generally last 4 to 10 years years depending on the environment the vehicle is driven in, how often and how the vehicle is driven.
How do I know if I need shortened spindles/uprights?
We recommend shortened spindles/uprights on moderately to extremely low vehicles. Generally vehicles lowered 2.5" or more will likely experience issues without the spindles being shortened. Shortening your spindles will create the additional needed clearance between the Front Upper Control Arms and your upper wheel well, along with correcting your suspension geometry to react more like it should from factory. We would recommend shortening them 35mm, always using a robust jig and done by a professional welder.
I'm hearing a noise from around one of the wheels what should I do?
You will need to stop driving, raise the car and remove the wheel to inspect and make sure nothing is loose ASAP. First you should check that jam nuts are tight if not, thread everything back together and tighten your jam nut, this is a good time to make sure your remaining jam nuts are tight. If they are move on the inspecting the ball joint nut and then 2 bolts holding the rod end into your car.
Everything is tight but my rod end is making noise?
It's likely that one of the rod ends on your control arm is worn. A temporary fix would be to spray it with lubricant like WD40, however the long term solution is to replace it with another rod end available on our website. These are considered a wear item and eventually do need replacement once play is apparent.
What do I do if my control arm has come apart?
This is due to the jam nut not being tight enough and the rod end backing out of the adjuster assembly. At its most extreme this can cause the arm to come loose from the car.
If the the rod end and adjuter are still threaded together you can just thread everything back together and tighten your jam nut this is a good time to make sure your remaining jam nut are tight.
If the rod end has separated from the adjuter you will need to make sure to inspect the rod end threads, adjuster threads, and to ensure all of the components (jam nut, tapered washer, adjuster) are all there before reassembly. If you still have all of the components and everything appears to be in good condition, it can be as simple as threading the assembly back together. Please ensure the jam nut is torqued to 150lb/ft (as tight as possible) and that there is enough thread engagement within the adjuster assembly.
What happens if I damage an arm or get in an accident?
We're sorry to hear that happened! Please feel free to reach out to us over email at info@serialnine.com, provide us with some pictures, and we will do what we can to help you. We can sell you replacement components and replacement main arm components, whatever helps you get your car back functional.

What year CD009 can I use with the CD-PRO?
Our CD-PRO adapter is compatible with ANY CD/JK transmission from 2001 ~ Current
What are the differences between the various years of CD transmissions?
Generalized, before 2006 had more issues with synchro wear. After 2006 had better synchros and after 2009 is the best version however the JK transmissions (370Z/G37) are larger and require more work to fit in. In summary we recommend anything after 2006. Nonetheless, the later transmission's are not stronger, they just shift better and are less prone to grinding.
Why is the CD009 a good transmission for my car?
The CD009 is a modern, high tech transmission designed to shift at high RPM, can take a lot of abuse and it can handle a lot of power. It shifts beautifully (especially with the CD999 shifter), and they're readily available both new or used for a decent price.
How reliable are CD009 transmissions?
The CD/JK transmissions are extremely reliable. After thorough testing with years and years of abuse, these transmissions have held up for us with no issues. Gerard currently has CD009's in both of his cars, a 600whp JZX100 Cresta, 350whp JZX110 Mark II Blit and previously his iconic 600whp JZS161 Aristo. Whereas Kevin currently has a CD001 in his 400whp SXE10 Altezza, and a CD009 transmission in his daily driver JZS171 Toyota Crown.
How low does the CD009 hang with your CD Pro ?
The CD-PRO system offers the smallest physical package for installing a CD009 into your car. Using our CD-PRO kit, the CD009 sits about 5mm below the frame rails on the IS300/JZX110 and 100 (higher or same as a 3" exhaust) We have had no issues on our JZX110 Blit and it is SUPER low. On the Aristo/GS it is higher than the framerails.
What parts need to be serviced?
The reverse lockout tab and bearing ball assembly are considered regular service interval items. They both last a very long time, however this depends on how the cars driven, what time of year it's driven, how often it's driven etc. These replacements components are available for purchase on our website. If you require any additional components, you can contact us at info@serialnine.com for more information.
Why am I having trouble shifting into 5th gear?
It is likely that your reverse lockout plate isn't adjusted correctly, please follow our video here for installation and correct adjustment - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wIsBqyr5rk&t=1s&ab_channel=SERIALNINE
Also ensure that you do not have the lower rubber boot (coming off the gear selector shaft) installed as it interferes with the ability to get into 1st, 3rd, and 5th gears. If none of these options fix your 5th gear issue, unfortunately it's likely your transmission.
I think i'm having an issue with my CD999 Shifter should I take it apart and repair it myself?
No, please do not take apart the main portion of the CD999 shifter as it can be very difficult to put back together without the correct tools. The replacement reverse lockout tab, and replacement lower bushings/bearing ball/linkage actuator can be installed by a customer relatively easily. If your shifter is needing additional service, we offer a full rebuild service for $150, this replaces every wear component and guarantees a fully operational shifter returned to you. You can contact us at info@serialnine.com if you're interested in this service.
What final drive do I need for the CD009?
We recommend the 3.7 final drive. This was available in: MT IS300, MT JZX90/100 Tourer V, JZX110 ALL turbo (i-RV/VR25)
I heard that CD009 gearing "sucks"
People saying the "gearing sucks" are either uninformed, have never driven one or had the wrong final drive in it. The CD009 with a 3.7 final drive is very similar to an R154 with a 3.9 or 4.1 but you have one more gear as well as a more modern transmission. The CD has lower and closer 1/2/3 gears which is awesome for turbo spool and spirited driving. 3/4/5 on the R154 are almost identical to 4/5/6 on the CD so high speed and highway driving is essentially the same. Drifting is definitely different as lots of time is spent in 2nd or 3rd. The advantage is you don't have the huge jump from 2-3 of the R154. You can easily grab 3rd mid drift and keep the tires lit with a moderately quick spooling turbo.
I'm experiencing additional noise/heat, what can I do about this?
Any vehicle equipped with a dual-mass flywheel will experience more noise when replaced with a lightweight flywheel and paired with a high-performance clutch. These components use lightweight materials for improved response and reduced rotational mass. However, these materials can sometimes resonate more than heavier components, contributing to noise under certain conditions. The noise and heat can be dealt with by adding some heat shielding, a pollution boot, sound deadening and anything else that a stock car would have in place above the transmission.
Does your DS-PRO replace the Giubo?
The DS-PRO does not replace the Giubo as such . However it does go in its place as an adapter for a normal 1310/1350 U joint when converting to a 1 piece driveshaft.
